Optimize Your Work Efficiency With Lights

If you do most of your work on a computer, set down a low-intensity lamp behind your computer. You want to avoid straining your eyes to focus on the screen. Subsequently, the ceiling fixture should disperse the light evenly around the room. Any light fixture should not directly point at the computer screen, as the light dims the computer’s brightness and causes you to strain your eye every time you look at it.

Get The Right Distance With The Light Source

The greater the distance between the light source and you, the lower the brightness. Avoid excessively bright and dark areas in the same room to ensure optimal concentration and comfort. An ideal distance between you and the light should be between 20 to 50 feet. There should be 10 to 20 feet of sideway distance between the light and workspace. This will ensure that your workplace has the right brightness you need to work without breaking concentration.

When working on a computer, you also have to make sure to check the blank screen for any reflection of lights situated around the room. If you can see the reflection of even one light, you will indeed be disturbed when your screen is turned on.

Choose The Right Number Of Light Sources

An office with the right amount of illumination is very important, but there should be a limit to the amount of lighting you place around the room. Your workspace should be lit up naturally as much as possible. Ceiling fixtures, wall sconces, and downlights should make up for most of the light in the room. Rather than placing unnecessary decorative lighting, you should invest in a quality desk lamp. Remember that uniform lighting is essential. Dark and bright places in the same room break up your concentration and decrease work efficiency.
